If you have a web-based company or just any business with a website at all you have probably heard of SEO, which stands Search Engine Optimization, and if you haven’t then you need to listen up.

SEO is the process of improving your website’s ranking on search engines on the internet. So, let’s say you have a new business selling your amazing new Homemade Soaps, Type in a Google search of “homemade soap,” the websites that show up at the top (underneath the ads) are on the top of the SEO ranks. So, if you sell homemade soap and do not show up near the top or on the first few pages at all then you need to work on your SEO and work on moving up the ranks. People rarely look past the first page when searching and are definitely not going past 2 or 3. If the internet has done anything it has made us impatient, so a lengthy search is unlikely. You can even go smaller and more precise and go for Scottsdale Homemade Soap. You want a really good solid search term that is searched frequently and precise.

A few general SEO tips to consider:

• Make sure your site is easy to navigate.
• Check for broken pages or loading issues
• Remove any duplicate content
• Add metadata to your pictures (not too big)
• Mobile compatible
• Blog
